Nasal-Only Endurance Breath
Performance · Intermediate · 8 rounds
Train aerobic capacity by breathing only through the nose.
Nasal breathing during steady-state cardio increases CO2 tolerance, boosts nitric oxide production (vasodilation), and improves oxygen uptake. Mouth opens only when intensity demands it.
How to practice
- Inhale for 4 seconds (through the nose)
- Exhale for 6 seconds (through the nose)
Benefits
- Higher CO2 tolerance
- More nitric oxide
- Better oxygen uptake
- Aerobic base development
When to practice
Use during easy and Z2 runs/rides. 2-4 sessions per week.
