Pursed-Lip Recovery
Recovery · Beginner · 6 rounds
Long exhale through pursed lips for fast aerobic recovery.
Exhaling through pursed lips creates back-pressure that keeps airways open longer, improves CO2 clearance and slows breath rate after intense effort. Common in altitude climbing and endurance recovery.
How to practice
- Inhale for 3 seconds (through the nose)
- Exhale (Pursed) for 7 seconds (through the mouth)
Benefits
- Faster recovery
- Better CO2 clearance
- Reduces breathlessness
- Steady heart rate
When to practice
Immediately after hard efforts, or at altitude.
