Calming Breath

Calm · Beginner · 5 rounds

Extended exhale activates the parasympathetic nervous system.

A longer exhale than inhale stimulates the vagus nerve and triggers the body's relaxation response.

How to practice

  1. Inhale for 4 seconds (through the nose)
  2. Hold for 2 seconds
  3. Exhale for 6 seconds (through the mouth)

Benefits

When to practice
