Post-Meal Walk Breath
Recovery · Beginner · 12 rounds
Nasal breathing paced to your steps on a short walk after eating.
A ten-minute walk after a meal blunts the glucose spike that follows it - useful for anyone managing insulin resistance. Adding a nasal breathing cadence, in for three steps and out for four, keeps the walk in the easy aerobic range and adds vagal tone on top. The exhale being longer than the inhale is the part that does the settling.
How to practice
- Inhale (3 Steps) for 3 seconds (through the nose)
- Exhale (4 Steps) for 4 seconds (through the nose)
Benefits
- Pairs with post-meal walking for glucose control
- Keeps the walk genuinely easy
- Adds vagal tone to a habit you already have
- Nothing to schedule separately
When to practice
10-15 minutes after your largest meal, most days.
